PostSubject: What a horrible Week (DX-6 and TLT died)   Sat 27 Jan 2007, 12:50

First Canada is way too cold. Even PA was way to cold to go crawling.

While I was in Canada I went crawling with my nephew in his basement, he has a big Nylint, and I proceeded to destroy a set of axle gears in my tuber following his Nylint (the nylint easily crawled over the stuff, good job Eric).

Then when I got home I wanted to start putting a spring return in my Dx-6 and proceeded to damage the radio, and now it needs to be sent into Spektrum and I am sure they will sit on it for 8 month and it will be a giant waist of time.

I guess the good news is, I made my Airplane DX-6 a spring return channel 3 and am certain that I can do the upgrade without damaging the Radio, practice makes perfect.

I now have two DX-6 cams and springs that I can upgrade two more DX-6s. If someone wants it done I will put a spring return on their throttle for $40.

Sorry to hear about your trouble Rene.

Here is what I used for the Mod. http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/showthread.php?t=21090&highlight=dx6 Jason did a nice write up with pics. Harold had me do the mod on his DX6. Went pretty fast and wasn't to hard. Hand making the new cam was the most work. The actually assembly was pretty easy.

hey there

It is not that hard to do, but 'not like other 4 channel radios' the antena stays in when you disassemble the radio.

Otherwise you tear a coaxial cable that connects the antena, and this cable is not repairable.

So I am sure that Spektrum will not send me a new antena and that they will request that IO send the Radio in. Oh well my person F-up.

Ya, I did notice that about the antenna. You kind of have to lay it to the side. The wire does not unplug.
