Well, if we do pre entries. I really think they need to be paid for. Otherwise you will end up with people taking spots that are not serious about coming. If you make them pay first you can bet they are more serious about coming. It also helps to have that money for event costs. Most of which needs to be paid for before the event. I will talk to Randy about it. But I think we can do preregistration online pretty easy.

Yes, pre reg w/o commitment can result in no shows. I will be working the same deal on my site. Justin

On January 21st, I informed the president of CRR, Randy,(as well as jason at RCC and others) that the crawling portion of the the monster truck world finals had to be dropped for several reasons. I felt it was his responsibilty to pass this news on to his members, but I guess it slipped his mind. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the are multiple factors that lead to this decision. if you have further questions, please email me at nolimitrcracing@yahoo.com

I'll ask.

What were some of the reasons? Seemed like it was moving along pretty well, especially with RCC joining forces. I am dissappointed, I was hoping this would become a large east coast event. Clue us in.

Yeah, why drop something that so many wanted to do? And why did somebody not explain what was happening instead of just leaving everyone hanging?

No joke. If the decision was made January 21st, and didn't get announced to the club (or at least the members) that was supposed to organize/run it until February 12th, that doesn't seem right.

I saw posts from Randy on February 4th about the event in the Comp Section thread titled 'Anderson comp on 23-25th of May?'. I want to think that if he knew at that time he would have said something to all of us instead of replying with "Not yet sure on sign ups but you will be put on the list". I was checking out hotels to stay at and almost booked one last week. I'm glad I didn't now, hopefully nobody else did and now has to cancel.

Oh well. I just want to know what happened. Guess I'll have to contact one of my buddies who is in with NolimitRC.

I sorry fellas. I have have not heard of this until now. I do remember Justin telling me that Jason had to find his own way out here but that was HPIs doing. I had no FREAKING idea that all the BS that Brandon has been doing has been for nothing. I recon that everything that we have doing has just been pissed away. I'll dig a little deeper.

Don't feel too bad, if RCC was supposed to be involved in any way, they haven't made mention of it on their site. I didn't even see them on the sponsor banner. But then again, my source of info has lost his computer and phone so I can't blame anybody here. I just don't understand how hard it could be for nolimitrc to explain what happened. An "I'm sorry fellas but time constraints are gonna force us to not be able to hold a rock crawl event" would have been nice. Sorry if I offend, but I spent a lot of money I didn't have just so I could conform to the damn event. 3 2.4 ghz radios are not cheap.
And as soon as I get over this flu bug, I'll see you fellers at the next comp.

Very Interesting. Sucks. I planned some vacation for this time. Would have been nice to know sooner. With No Limit, RCC and CRR.....why could this not be pulled off? Ohhh Well...could have been big!

Really sucks that you guys didn't even find out!

Explanation: Ok, I feel you all deserve an explanation as to what happened with this. There are multiple factors behind the decision I was faced with. Some of these factors involve a LOT of $$ and I know that if you were left with the same choice, 100% would have done what i did.

here are some of the factors that influenced my choice:
-This event is the MONSTER TRUCK world finals and that has been, and always will be, the #1 focus of this event.
-The large majority of my sponsors (especially the top tier guys) wanted to focus all of their energy (read $$) into promoting the MT's. I was told by someone very involved with numerous events across the country who said that "even the crawling nationals that RCC does are 2-3 years behind the No Limit events" and more that I won't print here.
-The cost to construct a course was a factor
-The benefit to my organization was minimal other than to have more "window dressing"
I got scolded for making the RCC announcement w/o running it through everyone first.
I sent an email to CRR president on January 21st as well as jason at RCC. so that they could pass along the info.
Did no one notice that a thread that had been getting a lot of activity suddenly dropped off the radar? No one noticed that all the CRR logos and news post were removed from nolimitrc.com??? I assumed that it was taken care of behind the scenes.
I am not going to drop names on who helped me make this decision, so don't ask.
The biggest overall deciding factor was the risk of bringing in more confusion, more tasks to carry out, more expense and for what? It would have been super cool, to have an event that combined 2 specialties, but I was not getting the support i anticipated in order to pull it off.
I appologize to BrandO for seeking and getting sponsorships that will not come to fruition. i have not heard from him in several weeks.
I did not make take this decision lightly. Please know that.

Letís not get all upset at No Limit RC for trying to fit in some Crawling! Iím sure he didnít get us all excited just for spite!

Justin,
Thanks for trying to put this together.
Iím sure you have enough on your plate as it is without trying to fit more into this weekend.

Everyone please remember that this was a business decision.
With that said lets try to be professional about it!

Maybe next year!

First of all, I'm not upset with nolimitrc over dropping this. His explanation is good enough for me. The sponsors see a conflict of interest. Plain and simple.
He is not the deciding factor in what goes and doesn't go into the show. Even though probably 1/2 of the drivers that are going to be there are into rock crawling. No angst to him at all over this. It's life, we can survive this. Maybe in the future it will happen. I do see a large gap though in the notification area that needs to be addressed in situations like this. With the utmost respect to all involved, I take it that nolimitrc has been communicating with Brando instead of Hap. As we all know, Brando has started other projects in racing and that at the time the communications were made, they were in their biggest kick of the year to get ready for racing. No fault to anyone. And I do not fault Brando for not being able to post on here if the message was given to him about the event being canceled. No fault to nolimitrc for thinking we were notified.

Let's move on and try for another event. I extend an apology to nolimitrc if he feels in any way I offended him. At the time all I had to go on a blank screen and a short note. Thank you for taking the time to explain, and I hope we meet at the event.

I understand where Justin is coming from but the simple fact of the matter is I was NOT told of anything being dropped and that is what pisses me off. Brandon sent a message the other day about the club and sponsor stuff for this event. Oh well that makes our end of year event that much bigger.

Thanks for taking the time to explain. It is much appreciated. I too am not pointing fingers here. I am not part of CRR, just a bystander.

I completely understand what you have said above about the confusion. It would defiantly add more of that. I can see this being the main and only reason for this.

I don't care who told you that RCC is behind in the way they do the Nationals, but it seems you contacted RCC, not CRR. Maybe if you would have given CRR the chance to do this and see what they can do you may have your own different opinion.

I am not coming down on you Justin. You are doing a great thing for the hobby, and I thank you. It just seems that someone gave you a chance to show what you can do, and yet you are not passing it forward.

I hope that maybe next year something can be done to get something big going.

Thanks for the attempt at starting this. Have a great day,
Tom

as previously said, thanks for the opertunity. I hope im not the only one who noticed the level of confustion that set in when RCC was brought into the picture. Does that happen at all the RCC events? Im still offended they were brought in.

"he" has a point. RCC really isnt that efficient as a promoter. all the growth comes from within the club. The only outside of crawling vender that showcases over there is RC4wd (even though it seems like they have gone almost totally crawler which isnt a bad thing). Point is, RCC really isnt any bigger than we are. we have the same resources and coverage of the country as the folks at RCC (even though its through RCC forums).

Again, like the guys have already said, maybe next year. With another year of comp planning and course layout and more club maturity under our belts i think we will be fully capable of handling something like this on our own.

i hope that fact that i am on here shows that I did not simply "blow CRR off" You have made some VERY GOOD points!!!! racer- yes, someone did give me the chance to prove myself and it has developed into something HUGE. I was trying to pay it forward by bringing in CRR. I NEVER delegate ANY sponsorships, but i felt it was important to show my faith in CRR to allow you to seek sponsorships and BrandO did great.
I will admit that things were going great until RCC came into the picture and then it got VERY confusing. then the stream of "why do crawling?...who is going to pay for this?...what do we get out of it?... and the final straw was when the top sponsors kind of frowned on the whole crawling thing.
To be honest I had already started to find a crawler for myself, and was very excited myself. The MT WF has grown SSSOOOOO fast, and i think bringing crawling in at this point may be too much, too fast. I mean our "smaller event" of the year drew 184 entries. I want to remain on good terms with CRR and I do believe that we can collaborate on future events (without help from RCC)
The ultimate show stopper was that sponsors, racers and others were concerned that the crawling would create radio conflicts and make things too big, and too confusing. Running a 300+ MT event and a 100+ crawler entry event at the same venue is a very real possibility. lets stay in touch.
My appologies to everyone who tried to make this work. i am right there with you.
