Hey Tony;

No one is arguing, I just do not want our 2008 season to be the same way as our October event. At first everyone was excited, and then no one organized it, eventhough the club was ready to go tear it up.

oh yeah i know. i am sure either way it goes it will be a great 2008.we still need to do a free crawl at the cape fear when the water is down. it is a close walk.or drive down to it.

I have stayed out of this debate for a reason. I think the new leader should be voted on by the active members. Since I am really not active at this point I stayed out of saying who should or shouldn't be president. I figured when I stepped away that it would be voted on. Maybe I should have been more clear on that. Any how I think the president is something that needs to be voted on.

With that said Rene took the bull by the horns and organized your last event. This is why I gave him the club stuff. I figured there may be things to help him run the event. So please don't read into that more than it is. Just trying to help a brother out. And I knew he would hold on to the club stuff for future events.

If someone would like to run the club this is the time to speak up. If Rene is the only one to speak up he is elected by default. No reason to vote if only one guy wants the job.

Stepping away from the club was tough for me. The club was more or less my idea. But many of our members made it possible. You will only succeed if everyone works together. My current job has got me excited about racing again. But with that comes times when I won't be around. Traveling to the track is part of the business. So look for your fat little yankee buddy on TV next summer. I do plan to compete on my off weekends. I am not selling my junk or getting out totally. After all I still need to get better so I can whoop rene's ass! And yes my friend someday somehow I will kick your ass.

See you all soon.

Thanks for your input Brandon;

This brings us back to post 1.

Does anyone, other then me, wish to be club President?

Please post here.

Even more direct, Randy, do you wish to be President?

Lets have a vote if anyone is interested. That way we can get everything figured out for next year.

The October event fell apart because noone seemed interested besides members of our club, then the racing stuff started for Brandon and myself. But I'm not any more so...

I agree that someone needs to take over for Brandon but noone can just jump in and say they are and start making decisions. I have ideas and plans also, but the club needs nominate a person who they think who would do the best for the club. If more than one person is nominated and both accept the reasonability then the vote comes into play.

O.K., let me toss my dog in this fight... :-)

Please no one get offended, this perspective comes from over thirty years experience in remote control and slot car club based racing.

Looks like we have at least two people interested in guiding this club in the future. Yes we call this position "President", Not "Dictator". As I have said before no one person can run this by themselves, nor should they. We are a club and everything, I mean everything should go to a vote. Seems the first Item of business is electing a new pres.....
Someone to keep the club organized and headed in the right direction for the members benefits, not someone(either Randy, Rene, or whoever) to make decisions for us.

Before this can be done we need to establish just who is a current and unto date member. This includes Single and family memberships. Who has a list, or is there a list of members. How can we set a date to vote when we don't know who all is available(current club member) to vote? Someone advise.

Is there anyone other than Rene or Randy interested in being our Pres.?

Secondly, a month or so ago there was talk of classes and which classes we would be running at which events. This also a subject this club should vote on. We know we have a very strong 2.2 comp class. I believe this class is a given. Unfortunately the Super class has been dwindling. And, The scale class seems to be taking off. I am aware there are invites to the nationals super and 2.2 comp. We spoke at one time of needing at lease five(or was it three) trucks to have the class at one of our events. The past several events we have only had three supers. This past weekend we had 7 Scale truck, and talk of others selling there 2.2 rigs to build scale trucks. How do we leave Scale trucks out of the first several events. This is another item which will need voted on.

There are several different issues the club needs to talk about and make decisions on. Events, event locations, organized free crawls to check out new locals, classes, awards, race prizes, difficulty of courses(for me the harder the better, but I don't think everyone agrees), and many other things.

All club business should be voted on.......No exceptions.

i agree with tony. Wade made a very great observation. Scale seems to be growing in our area. With augusta (being one of the biggest scale events in the hobby) almost right around the corner from us, and the national growth of scale crawling, it silly of us to overlook the niche. I think all in all, supers have had their day.

I personally wont be participating much this next season in anything but scale. A machine purpose built to climb rocks just doesnt do it for me.

Its kinda like "wow, you built it to climb rocks.....and it does, whoopie." compared to "wow, you climbed that....with that?"

But...back on topic. Before anything is decided on as far as next season, we need to better organize our staff and club.

I dont think we have been a true "club". we've been, no offense to anyone, a hobby of brando's. He has taken a lot of time to get us started in a good direction. The club has pretty much been in his hands and not functioned a true club. Dont get me wrong, without brandon we all be sitting back web crawling on RCC.COM. But he's let go of the reigns and its time to organize and become formal.

First of all, we need a list of people who have experience with club leadership. I would imagine that the input from those on that list would hold the most value. (please note, i would not be on this list so i am looking to someone who is for guidance and advice)

We need to Define the roles of the positions to be filled by elections.

We need to Define the positions to be filled.

We need term limit of the elected officials.

We need to determine the number of officials needed to run the club.

We need to set guide lines and come up with some set rules for events (such as, no running when you are not on a course, no alcohol, no profanity within earshot of minors, no leaving trash at an event, etc.)

We also need to establish a home field. We have all these spots accross the state, but it would be nice to have something to really call home. Something Voted on by the members.

All these ideas a great if we were setting up a country (maybe we would call it Crawlistan) With the complexity everyone is adding to this issue we will never get this thing figured out.

When everyone says that we need to decide on how many officers, roles etc..? Is that all expected to come from Randy, since he is the leader now?

My personal view is that we need a president who will represent us at RCcrawler.com and who will organize the events. BigRed you want to assign a bunch of other people to do things, I think its much easier to simplify the job so that one person can do it. When the president needs help, he simply asks for it, such as Doug judging, Wade Teching and Tony building some course at the last event.

Wade I agree with you 100% , that the club needs to make the decisions and that stuff needs to be discussed and voted on.

Scale needs to be run and this is why I ran the first Scale crawler class in our club at the very first event I hosted.

As for Supers; Supers need a chance to qualify for Nationals, If we do not have the time to run them at regular comps, we can set up three courses at GTG and they can compete there (its 2 hours of time 5 times). Organizing the opportunity to run 5ish trucks so that 2 can go to Nationals and represent us seems a pretty good thing. (I wore the CRR shirt and had the CRR stickers on my bugs)

The more administrative BS is added to this the less time we will spend crawling.

Fishmax leads the SERCRC (the most successful club in the country) which is much bigger and more active then ours. Their club runs great with out all these extra positions, as our club did last year. Why reinvent the wheel?

I have gone to a SERCRC event and it ran smooth. Courses were hard, same as at Nationals. They should be doable for more then one or two trucks, but not as easy as driving down a gravel road.

My goal is to get to nationals and not have my butt handed to me, because our courses are too easy.

so lets vote and get it done if the president needs help with food or judgeing we all can help i now i dont care to go the extra mile to help any one out because i know if it was me needing help you guys would jump in welll lets just vote on president and vice and that is that

Hey guys just out of curiousity how do you guys know that the people that are voting are actually active members? Personally I have not and will not vote simply beacuse I wasn't really active in 2007 due to my family and my job. I do not feel like I have a fair right to vote simply because I wasn't there much last year. I have since found an early retirement from coaching and plan to be much more involved in 08. I was just wondering about this because it should be as fair as possible. Just a thought.

OK guys I am not trying to pull anyone's chain here but I just checked and we have had twelve new people sign up on the board since yesterday? Rolling Eyes I find that hard to be legitimate. Correct me if I am wrong but this seems fishy.

Guys, your usernames are traceable. The admin staff knows who you are and when you signed up. Lets not do anything that might be considered unfair voting practices. Anyone caught double voting will be banned from the club and forums permanently.

The admin staff will be reviewing accounts and activity tonite and tommorrow. If there are any accounts created under false pretenses, i expect to see them deleted before they are reviewed.

Should an account need to be deleted you can click on "profile" in the navigation bar at the top of the page, scroll down and check the box for "delete my account".
