I thought there would be more chatter around here since we just had a comp.

Glad those that made could come out today. Public parks are a great place to find new members. The crawling spots being right next to heavily trafficked paths at miller parked help out alot. I think we gained a few new members today. Matt spent a good part of the day hanging out and watching what was going and it sounds like he got the ball rolling on a crawler.

Also glad to see another comp go by with minimal complaints from the group. I didnt hear any and cant think of any myself so i think that went pretty well.

The shoot out tie breaker was really cool, lotta pressure on the two guys in the final run.

I was glad to be able to compete in the 2.2. i wish i had started here and not wasted a bunch of time on supers. i know alot of you like supers but it just wasnt a class i was comfortable in. Now all i gotta do is learn to drive!

Thanks to Cam and Scott...paypal sent! Thanks again to Brando and Lawrence and Ellen for the grub. Thanks to Chef timmy for not giving us all food poisoning!!!!

Running Two courses seemed to work out alot smoother. I know that harder courses make for a more interesting run, but something i noticed today....is that when everyone is timing out...at 5 min. each, that makes for along day!!!! easier courses that everyone can finish would give everyone "induvidual" finishing times...most likley no one will finish in the exact same amount of time so ties shouldnt be a problem.

Anyway....just an observatiin i had. it may make the day move quicker and eliminate ties.

Lol..didnt think i had so much to say about today. thanks to everyone for coming out.

hey

Today was great. It was good to see that we find 6 courses in a relatively small area.

The courses were great and I am totally ok with destroying my truck on the last course. If we had a true plan the first two courses should be technical but duable and the third can be a axle snaper, run the clock out type course. Brando, I am sorry you broke on the first course with the super.

Running a slipper on my 2.2 with the Holmes Gen I Revolver saved me some parts today, it would be great to have a slipper in the clods. ( I know the MIP ball diffs would do this but they are a pain to adjust and not that durable for crawling)

About the super vs 2.2. I am glad you enjoyed your 2.2 its a great class. It would be nice to have a couple more super trucks.

I was wiped out last night guys. I think we had a good day as a whole. Thanks to everyone who came out. And special thanks to the people who pitched in. I think we improved from our first event. That was my goal to move things along better at each event. We are really learning as we go. I think we still have some things to work on. Not big stuff, just little tweaks.

The whole tie breaker was my fault. From now on if you time out or point out you will get the 40 point DNF. But you will also be given 5 minutes for your time. This is where we where screwing up. I figured this out after reading the rules last night. So I think that is figured out. In the event of a tie score the person with the lowest time total for all 3 stages will be the winner.

We also need to work on course layout. Like I said we are still learning. But like Rene said the first two courses need to be a little easier. That way people are not breaking, timing out, and getting frustrated. The 3rd can be a little more difficult. I hope to have a second tlt ready for the next event. That way the course can be pre run with a truck not in competition by a driver not competing in that class. This should eliminate some of the gates that are undoable. Cool

I only blame one person for the breakage of my Clod. And that is myself. I got greedy and tried to make the truck do something it wouldn't. Instead I could have taken a couple reverse penalties and moved on. Instead I broke my truck for no reason. Oh well, live and learn.

Today they sent me home from work. I am supposed to be sleeping. Have to go back later on this evening. Probably be working through the night. They decided to change a bunch of stuff on the cars going to Atlanta. So I might be scarce for the next couple days. Welcome to big time stock car auto racing. scratch

well ellen and i had a great time on sunday. i was thinking about it all day today at work. i liked the two challenging courses at the begining and what "looked like a "easy" course at the end lol! i liked how my new truck did and id like to thank Rene for all his help and words of wisdom. he has been like the godfather of crawling for me. i think ellen had a good time and learned a lot about differnt lines.

we cant wait til the next comp. i think it went really well. id like to thank brandon and eric for all the work they put in and thanks to timmy for cooking.

well all in all i think i learnd a lot and i know what i need to work on for the next comp. im glad we didnt break anything! i think addind the slipper's to our trucks took care of my heavy finger Very Happy

see yall soon!

will this effect the whole outcome of the finishing points for everyone or is it just for tie breakers? thanks!!

The time issue we had did not effect scores or your place in the results. The time is only used to resolve a tie. The scores where very tight after the second stage was complete. Position 2-12 was only seperated by 6 points. So the people who did well on the final stage moved up the standings. But if you had a higher score on the final stage you got bumped to the back.

A number of people have been burned by him. May not be intentional on his part. But he seems kind of flakey. He always has an excuse. Show us some pics of your problem. Not sure if we can help or not.

And when the hell am I going to have time for that? Not enough hours in the day as it is. Never mind some good old fashioned southern style redneck book learnen. I am starting to pick up a few of ya'll words. Hanging out with Randy has helped with that. I can almost understand him 75% of the time.

Is that thing even square? Looks cocked to the right to me. Personally, I have never seen a stick with 4 shocks. And the Vendor thing, I know you don't have the time Brando. But, lets face it, your better than 75% of the vendors on RCC.
