Being there I don't think is to much of a problem. There was a number of people there fishing. I doubt they would open the gate for us. So the walking is going to be part of it. I saw some signs but not a one no trespasing sign on the dam side. But I agree asking for official entrance would throw up red flags.

I will do whatever you guys want. Something with wheels to cart your crap down is a must. I think that is what killed it for me. Two trucks, radios, tools, camera, etc. I felt like a mule. I won't do the stairs again. I would rather take the longer less vertical route.

i vote yes to a comop there like you guys sayed it is big and alot of lines. but you guys would bring a wagon or a little roller crarer like i did but next time i will hav a car battery on the cart so we can charge rig batterys down at the dam so we will not hav to walk back and forth to charge batterys and just bring all the spare parts and other thingd that you might need if you break just bring all you stuff in one trip so we will not hav to go back up top to get food chargers etc etc but other than that i think it will be a good comp spot just bring all your guys stuff in one trip.
and hell we all need to walk a little to keep your guys girly figures
lol!
hell guy there is a spot up at the top off the dam also i should brandan it at the top of dam it is just big rocks were could also hav one there but it very jaged and big rocks there but if you guys want we can vote at the comp day there if you guys want to got on the bottom or at the top of the dam.

Did anyone get any pics?

Not really down for alot of walking. I remember that first place we crawled at uwharrie. That walk sucked. By the time i got back to the truck and helped anthony finish his repair...ya;ll were done crawling! Ya'll remember the big yellow cart i brought to the bull hole...that was a pain in the but...but the bullhole was uphill all the way to the parking. I dont know that a wagon will make it better. What kinda path is it?

Sorry I didn't make it but I had a sick little girl at home that needed my TLC. Great looking pics. Don't know if I'm in for the walk that Scott told me about.

So a cart would be a must? How bout a all terrain dolly? I got a Jumper box I would be willing to bring if charging would be an issue. Heck, I might even be able to bring 2. Big um's. Walking would not be too much of a problem for me. Heck, I walked a mile to Raven Rock, down 127 vertical steps just to play for about an hour. Big Red could bring his wagon. I'm game, I vote yes.

The walk in is actually a road. It is pretty flat for the most part. At the end of the road there is a hill down to the rocks. The terain isn't bad. The distance I would estimate at about 1/2 -3/4 mile. There is a set of very steep metal stairs up the side of the dam. It cuts down the distance a good bit. But the climb is a killer.
